The vampire costume's for boys should of course be predominantly black, with red as a secondary color.  That’s not to say you can’t have a vampire costume in other colors, but it certainly is easier to pull off in black and red.  Call it cultural conditioning or whatever you wish, but people expect a vampire to be dressed at the very least in dark colors, if not black.

Boys do not usually wear makeup, but costumery is an exception.  Halloween costumes in particular are reliant on good makeup, to enhance that sense of the paranormal.  For vampire costumes, very pale, whitish foundation is the best base.  From there, highlight the eyebrows using some eyeliner, making them seem thin and well-formed.  Lips should be red, as red as you can get them with lipstick.  Finally, add a touch of eye shadow to mark the eyelids, and you have a face fit for any of the vampire costumes.
